The triad of hours of (Bhdt) was hours, hathour, and hours the younger or the Uniter of the two lands, The temple of hours is entirely Ptolemaic temple. In the city of Edfu we have some evidence dating back the occupation of the city to the pre-history. The temple of hours at Edfu started to be built 237 B.C and it was finished and completed 57 B.C.Ptolemy III he is the one who started building the temple and he declared that he was constructing the temple on a plan originally, made by Imhotep, the builder of the step pyramid at Saqqara. ِِTHE COLOSSI OF MEMNON
The two massive or colossi of Memnon are the remains of the largest funeral temple ,in the necropolis Thebes which was built by king Amenhotep III in the 18th dynasty, statues once performed the impressive entrance of the largest mortuary temple of king Amenhotep III which was the largest temple in the necropolis of Thebes and it is difficult to imagine how big was the temple, how big was its garden and its lakes, which was built under the supervision of Amenhotep son of (habo) the supervisor of the king. The mortuary temple itself was probably Destroyed by a high flood, then after that it was neglected , In the Ramaside period Ramses the second his sons used some of the temple for building the neighboring monuments then nothing was left except these two statues and at the rear back there is a stelae 150 tons showing the dedication of the temple to the king. The tow statues are made out of quartz and they are twenty meters above the ground. The statue in the left is in a better state of restoration showing the king is seated flanked by his mother and his wife, and a third figure in the left which has been destroyed.
Both sides of the throne are decorated with the Nile god hapi with the (sma t3wy) sign which is the symbol of the unification between upper and lower. The so called colossi of Memnon are miss named, because when the Romans where in Egypt the statue was destroyed and had a lots of cracks, so they identified the statue with the roman hero Memnon who was the legendary son of aurora who was killed in the battle of troy ,Even when the roman emperor septimius Severus 193 AD people they still call the statue the statues of Memnon.
